The Archive: Forty Years of Design

We have been keeping records since the beginning. Sketches, patterns, photographs of finished pieces, notes from customers, correspondence with suppliers. The archive now occupies several rooms in our original workshop, and it continues to grow.

We opened it to the public for the first time last year a small exhibition, carefully selected, running for three weeks. We were surprised by the response. People spent hours there, moving slowly through forty years of design history, asking questions, making connections between pieces separated by decades.

What struck us most was how consistent the core principles have been. The proportions have changed. The palette has evolved. But the fundamental commitments to quality of material, to honesty of construction, to the belief that a well-made object is worth making have remained constant since our first collection.

We are currently developing a more permanent space for the archive. We believe it has value not just as a record of our own history, but as a document of leather craft and design over the past four decades. We hope to open it to researchers, students, and anyone else who is curious, by the end of next year.
